Following the release of their acclaimed third album Earth Trip, Rose City Band have announced their first full-band UK and Ireland tour for September 2022. The band will also be touring west coast U.S. in May, with more worldwide dates to be announced. Ahead of the tour, the band have shared the live video for Earth Trip single "In The Rain", elevating the track's shimmering melodies and bittersweet beauty to transcendence in the live arrangement.

Following the recent announcement of their new album Regards / Ukłony dla Bogusław Schaeffer, out 20 May 2022, groundbreaking electronic duo Matmos have announced UK and European tour dates for summer 2022. The tour includes a residency at Monheim Triennale in Germany, and a performance at Ephemera Festival in Warsaw, the new sister festival of Unsound and a key staging for a performance and album with roots in the Polish avant-garde.

Helen Money (cellist Alison Chesley) has announced an extensive tour throughout the US this summer alongside Neurosis' Steve Von Till. The tour will be Chesley's first time presenting pieces from her 2020 album Atomic in the US, and includes a set at the Fire In The Mountains Festival.

Ahead of the release of his new album Music from the Accident, out Mar. 18th, composer and drummer John Colpitts (aka Kid Millions of Oneida, Man Forever) has shared new single "Bread".

Reunited with friend and Fox Millions Duo collaborator Greg Fox as well as percussionist Noach Hecht (Porches, Fiery Furnaces), "Bread" transposes Colpitts' expressive grasp of rhythm and texture to the modular synthesiser. Slow-burning electronic loops build from bleary-eyed Kosmische vapours into ecstatic peaks through barely perceptible sonic shifts, flowing from stasis through to transcendence.

Ahead of the May 20th release of his new album Arroyo, multi-instrumentalist Jon Porras has shared the title track.

The piece stands as the album's centerpiece and thesis, centering Porras' return to his piano routes with gorgeous chordal figures lifting off from a languid drone. "Arroyo is the Spanish word for stream and he four compositions one the album were structured around the concept of a stream," explains Porras. "There's a continuous flow of separate elements that coalesce into an ever-changing whole."

Arroyo is available to preorder now on limited-edition clear vinyl. 

Following release of his celebrated 2021 album Future Times, Plankton Wat aka Dewey Mahood is releasing a special vinyl reissue of his 2017 album Hidden Path.

Originally released on Sky Lantern Records on limited cassette, the album is newly mastered by Amy Dragon of Telegraph Audio and will be available on LP and digitally for the first time ever.

After assembling a mammoth 99 collaborators on their last album The Consuming Flame, Matmos’ new album focuses in on just one person: the chameleonic Polish composer Bogusław Schaeffer.

As with all Matmos’ music, the sheer vibrancy of their electronic work-outs speak for themselves, unpretentious and requiring no prior knowledge but equally giving greater content and meticulous sonic and contextual detail for the inquisitive to dig into. First single “Flight To Sodom / Lot do Salo” is a polyrhythmic swirl of transcendent choral passages and syncopated stutters, a perfect introduction to the album’s slinking sonic assemblage.

Ahead of Thalia Zedek Band's European tour this February and March, the band have shared the new video for Perfect Vision track "Smoked".

Filmed during the band's December US tour and edited by Andy McBain, the video's stark black and white footage and collaged textures reflect "Smoked"s unguarded honesty, skeletal architecture and subtle sonic embellishments. Alison Chesley’s (Helen Money) sweeping cello and Mel Lederman's piano flourishes bolster the band's elegently restrained melodies, while Zedek's resounding vocals cut through like a knife.

The band's upcoming tour will be their first time performing music from Perfect Vision in Europe since the album's release, and features a two-day residency at Wabe in Berlin, with a line-up curated by Zedek including Myriam Gendon and 75 Dollar Bill. See the full list of dates here.

With his staggering solo work, and previously with duo Barn Owl, Jon Porras manages to create an astounding array of atmospheres and depth of feeling from the most minimal of instrumentation.

Porras' forthcoming new album Arroyo, out April 22nc is a minimal ambient masterwork , centered on Porras’ exploration of the piano and the modal forms for a suite of ruminations on stillness and space, a perfect accompaniment to the season.

One of New York’s most in-demand improvisers and drummers, Colpitts’ prolific list of collaborations speaks to his omnivorous and innovative approach to music - whether working with pioneering composers like William Basinski and Laurie Anderson, outrock explorers Boredoms, Spiritualized and his own band Oneida or fellow contemporary sonic adventurers Greg Fox and Jan St. Werner.

Music from the Accident finds Colpitt’s eschewing his Man Forever and Kid Millions monikers for his most personal work yet, and boy howdy it’s a good one. If you’ve been following the label for a while, you’ll know that the drummer was involved in a severe car crash back in 2018 that left him unable to perform for months. Far from becoming depressed by a random act that could have ended his ability to play, Colpitts used the obstacle to create some of his wildest and most powerful music to date - from Terry Riley-esque synthesiser mediations, to spidery drum architectures. Amazing stuff, don't miss it.
